Product description

Realization of the coin with nominal value of 10 000 CZK boasts a young sculptor and medalist Jakub Orava, who expanded his portfolio with this enterprise of spectacular artistic numismatic gem. His unusual proposal fascinated a commission including professional advisors ThDr. Jiří Vaníček from the Czechoslovak Hussite Church and prof. PhDr. Marie Bláhová, PhD., From the Faculty of Philosophy. Together, they were awarded first prize in the Czech National Bank and in early July, collectors and investors waited to see the long-awaited issue of gold made on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of Jan Hus, which is now presented by the Czech Mint with pride.

Jan Hus went to Constance in the autumn of 1414, to attend the council meeting for the purpose of a definitive solution of the papal schism. The journey, however, was fatal – he was captured and thrown into prison. He refused the offer of an appeal, for which he was stripped of the priesthood and handed over to the secular court for sentencing. It was very merciless and ordered Jan Hus to burn at the stake as a heretic outside the city on 6th July 1415 . The Master's ashes were then thrown into the Rhine to disallow worship his remains. Hus`message, despite the efforts of the Church did not dissapear, on the contrary, to strengthen reform efforts and its strong message sounds urgently after several centuries.

The obverse side of the 10 000 CZK coin made of pure gold dominates the manuscript of Jan Hus with a large cross, whose area provided space for tasteful placement of the nominal CZK 10 000 and the inscription CZECH REPUBLIC. At the top of the composition, then there are three Czech earth characters. The reverse side is surprisingly brave, graphically pure concept, dominated by the charismatic figure of Jan Hus`statue complemented bzy the inscription Master Jan Hus and the years 1415-2015. Original artwork suggests a significant investment potential - save your cash reserves safely and enjoy new treasure in the numismatic collection!
