Short bedtime stories accompanied childhood of  nearly each of us, and for several generations. The inspiration for bedtime strories on television was the radio program "Good evening, children!", read initially by Vlastimil Brodský. Bedtime stories accompanied by a well-known jingle, presented then on television the first fairy tale Aboutthe little television monster – a strory of naughty bogey , who revolves around a television antenna, which causes distortion on the screen. It was followed by a whole range of stories and characters that have won the children`s, as well as adults`hearts – Fairy Amelia, Maxipes Fík, Bob and Bobek, bandit`s family Rumcajs, Manka and Cipísek, Rákosníček or Křemílek with Vochomůrka are amongst the most popular till today. However, the first rung of popularity, according to public opinion polls from 2014 was reached by the Fairy tale from Giant Mountains - its viewership reached almost two million viewers.

Smart gold coin 5 NZD dedicated to recently 50 year old Večerníček was prepared by the artist Irena Hradecká, DiS. The reverse side presents Večerníček as most of us remember him - together with the sheets of paper with faire tales which he gives children through a television screen night after night. The motif in a beautiful relief realization especially excels in top proof quality of the mintage. The obverse side boasts a tasteful composition of issuer`s attributes and nominal 5 NZD.
