Product description

Dalibor Janda is the latest star who is given a tribute - gold half-ounce medal from the Gold Nightingales cycle. This commemorative mintage of the Czech Mint is published at a time when the singer, composer and lyrics writer celebrates his 65th birthday.

Dalibor Janda had not appeared on the czech music scene until the late 1970s. He began acting in the amateur band Prototyp. His first hit Strawberry Cocktail was released in 1983. He won three gold nightingales in 1986, 1987 and 1988. Unlike his vocal colleagues he had a distinctive, hoarse voice and became popular because of memorable melodies. He usually composed them alone, but he often worked with the giants of the music industry. This was also an example of his debut album Hurricane, on which Ladislav Štaidl worked. Album was named after a tragic song that became Dalibor's best-known and probably the most popular song, while taking care of his nickname.

The proposal of the musical medal comes from the studio of the leading medal-maker and portraitist MgA. Martin Dašek. The obverse side is dominated by the charismatic portrait of Dalibor Janda surrounded by his name in the inscription. The reverse side is an original collage. You can find there a gramophone record, a double-necked guitar, the inscription GOLD NIGHTINGALES 1986-87-88, together with the names of two famous hits LIFE AS STUNTMAN and HURRICANE with which the motive of the tire is connected.

The first 100 pieces of limited edition of 300 half-ounce medals are hand-numbered on the edge. Take a look at the collector's etui, where Dalibor Janda has a place next to the other six stars of the Music Hall of Fame.
