Mickey Mouse Band Concert 1oz Silver Coin
The collector's silver coin series, dedicated to the milestones of Mickey Mouse's film career, reminds the animated mouse in its very first colorful role. The music grotesque from 1935 is called the “Band Concert".
The grotesque presents Mickey Mouse as a kapellmeister who, in an open-air concert, instinctively controls the performance of the classic opera Wilhelm Tell. His art, however, disturbs the street vendor, who wants to be a part of the show. This is no one but the legendary Donald Duck. The bird starts playing an American folk song Turkey in the straw, which confuses the whole orchestra. Mickey destroyed Donald's flute, but he has a seemingly endless quantity of them in his stock. And that's not all - the ice cream will attract a bee, that will bother musicians, and a song called Storm will cause a tornado. However, musicians are already so used to the distraction, that they continue to play conscientiously even though they are flying through the air. When the show ends, the only spectator who has stayed in the auditorium is Donald. He applauds to the he band enthusiastically, but then continues to play his evergreen. And that's when the musicians have had enough...
The reverse side of the coin presents the mouse in a festive conducting uniform - he runs his orchestra fiercely and a music notes fly around him.
