Mickey Through the Ages - Brave Little Tailor 0.5 gram Gold Coin
Walt Disney presented the animated mouse called Mickey to the world in 1928. Thanks to a cute sense of humor and a beautiful animation he quickly won the hearts of both small and big viewers and has appeared in over 130 films. One of them is a magical grotesque called Brave Little Tailor from 1938, which is resembled on this collectible coin of pure gold.
The story of a short animated film, in which a poor tailor, using his common sense, triumphs over the brute force of a giant and wins the heart of the king's daughter, was inspired by the classic fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Walt Disney unforgettably dubbed the cartoon hero himself and it was one of the most expensive and most elaborated slapstick comedies of its time. It was nominated for the Oscar, but another film from the Disney production took the prestigious award. Yet to this day this film ranks among the best short animated films of all time.
On the reverse side of the coin is captured a scene, where thanks to a misunderstanding Mickey Mouse becomes a king’s slayer of giants - he relies on a tailor's scissors, which he uses instead of a sword. The obverse side then belongs to the attributes of the issuer of the coin, the Pacific island of Niue: the portrait and the name of Elizabeth II., the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS 50 CENTS and the year of issue of the coin 2016.
