Set of 2013 circulation coins dedicated to the Liberec region.

The set of 2013 circulation coins contains standard valid Czech coins that were not released into general circulation. The coins at face values of CZK 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50, with an original token dedicated to the theme of the set, are sealed in foil in a square carton folder illustrated with photos of interesting sights of the region.
The Liberec region is situated in the north of Bohemia. From the west to the east it is bordered by mountains – Lužické and Jizerské,the Ještěd-Kozákov ridge and the highest mountain range in the country, the Giant Mountains. Modern industry is represented by machine engineering – for example the manufacture of car components and state-of-the-art textile machines. The traditional glass industry made the region famous worldwide. The real symbol of the region is the futuristic hotel on top of the Ještěd mountain, designed by architect Karel Hubáček, which aspires to be entered in the UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
The accompanying token made of Nordic Gold (alloy CuAl5Zn5Sn1) was designed by Jan Petr, a graduate of the Secondary Vocational School in Jablonec nad Nisou. The obverse side features the town halls in two neighbouring towns: Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou. The reverse side is dominated by Štěpánka, the most beautiful lookout tower of the Jizerské Mountains.
