Product description

The common pilgrimage of Czechs and Slovaks through history lasted 75 years. It was full of joy and sadness. We shared a lot of losses but also victory, and although our paths eventually split, we are still close to each other not only geographically. Our cultures, languages, thoughts and characters are so similar that we will always remain "brothers". This is evidenced by the common numismatic project prepared on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Foundation of Czechoslovakia with the Jablonec Czech Mint, the Slovak Mint Kremnica and the central banks of both states in the background.

The issue has the form of compilation of two sets of circulation coins in a common packaging. It contains all valid circulation coins issued by the national banks of the Czech Republic and Slovakia with the embossed year 2018. These are nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 c, 1 and 2 € , together with two commemorative tokens. The Linden leaves of the all-Slav tree are their linking element.

On the obverse side of the czech token made by a talented student Veronika Adamcová of the Jablonec Medalist School, there is a map of Czechoslovakia formed from the linden leaves in the crown of the tree. The reverse side of the Czech token presents the heraldic features of Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, Slovakia and the Sub-Carpathian Ruthenia through the five-leaves branchlet. The composition of the reverse side is complemented by a copy of TG Masaryk's classic quote ""THE MAN WITHOUT NATION WOULD BE NOTHING".

The obverse side of the Slovak token, which is the work of Martin Sabolo, a designer of Kremnica Mint, is dominated by a large national emblem of Czechoslovakia and a national flag made of linden leaves. The heart leaves also appear on the reverse side of the Slovak token, where it decorates the map of the newly established republic. Part of this map is the outline of the former Hungary, where Slovakia gained its desired independence.

The patriotic packaging includes a trilingual accompanying text (in Czech, Slovak and English), illustrations and photographs that remind of breaking moments in the history of Czechoslovakia. A similar international currency set last appeared in 2007. It was soon sold out and is still a popular collector's item.
