Product description

We celebrate several important anniversaries in 2018. The equal quarter century of the existence of the Czech Republic and the Czech crown is somewhat extinct in the shadow of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. However, the Czech Mint, which also celebrates its 25th birthday, does not forget and has prepared a luxurious jubilee set of circular coins embossed in top quality proof in cooperation with the Czech National Bank.

Classic circular coins with nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 crowns that you meet daily are embossed in quality "standard". Their entire surface is matte and resistant to damage, which ensures a long service life. However, Czech metal tender are not only a means of payments. Many people appreciate their artistic processing, and therefore put them in their numismatic collections. For these cases, a collector variant of coins with a quality "proof", which features a mirrored glossy surface and a matt relief, arises. This attractive contrast effect is achieved by special surface treatment of the tools used for excavation. At the beginning of the "proofing" process, the area of the whole die is polished with special aids and a diamond paste. Then, the stamp is covered with a special adhesive tape. On the parts of the relief to remain dull, the proofreader should be carefully to cut and remove the tape. They work under a microscope and apply this technique to the finest details. A sand of different roughness is applied to the masked punch, which makes the exposed parts of the relief to be matte. Finally, the remaining tape is removed, preserving the selected parts of the polished relief. An extraordinary care is dedicated to the "proof" variant of the circulation coins even during excavation. This is not an automatic machine-stamping. Each coin is individually embossed and packaged in a protective capsule.

The commemorative medal of pure silver is part of the set in addition to the six circulation coins with the year 2018. This excavation, which is the work of the academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů, commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Czech crown and the Czech Republic. The reverse side carries the originally made heraldic animals, namely the Czech lion, the Moravian eagle and the Silesian eagle, supplemented with the text "2018 - 25 YEARS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC". The obverse side is inspired by the relief of a ten-crown coin, dominated by Petrov - the Cathedral of St Peter and Paul in Brno. The composition of the obverse side is completed by the inscription CURRENCY OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC.

The commemorative set is stored in an elegant wooden etui, part of which is a numbered certificate of authenticity from the State Printing Works of Securities.
