Product description

The Czech Mint in cooperation with the Czech National Bank regularly issues a comprehensive set of Czech circulation coins, which are complemented with a commemorative token and stored in an elegant packaging with the motif of the Czech Republic. The year 2017 is no exception.

You come in contact with the metallic means of payment almost every day, but have you ever wondered, what its relief actually depicts? 1 CZK coin bears the crown of St. Wenceslas, 2 CZK then the knob, a fancy piece of jewelry from the time of the Great Moravian Empire. The coins with higher nominal values belong to the architecture of the Czech Republic: 5 CZK coin recalls the legendary Charles Bridge. 10 CZK coin belongs to the Petrov in Brno, the famous panorama of Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul. 20 CZK coin is dedicated to the monument on Wenceslas Square in Prague with the majestic statue of St. Wenceslas. 50 CZK coin, which was incidentally declared the most beautiful circulating coin of the world  in 1993, bears the grouping of the Charles Bridge, the National Theatre building, the St. Nicholas Church and the Prague Castle with the St. Vitus Cathedral - the unique buildings characteristic for our capital city.

The commemorative token, which together with six circulation coins is an integral part of each set, is also dedicated to the Czech architecture this year. The talented medaillist Irena Hradecká, DiS., has dedicated the relief of the token to the monumental buildings positioned in an original circular composition. The obverse side bears the most beautiful Czech castles - Bouzov, Kost, Křivoklát, Karlštejn and Hluboká - along with text 2017 ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA. The reverse side is dedicated to the sights in Prague - the Old Town Hall with the astronomical clock, the Industrial Palace, the Powder Tower, the National Museum and the Prague Castle - complemented with an inscription PRAHA.

This attractive package in the form of a bilingual book with dust jacket recalls another of the innumerable monuments of the Czech Republic, with photographs as well as text.
