The Bouquet

The third silver medal from the seven-part cycle inspired by the Bouquet (czech: Kytice) of Karel Jaromír Erben is dedicated to a poem called Svatební košile.

The hidden motif of the dark story, which deals with
guilt and punishment, is the clash between pagan and Christian culture. The ballad tells the story of an abandoned girl who is thrown into the traps of evil supernatural forces due to her broken heart. All she has to do is to be repentant, return to the true faith and ask for forgiveness. Unlike other Erben´s ballads, the punishment for a girl's blasphemy is mild - it is a night full of horror spent among the undead. The ballad ends in this moment, but in some national legends, which are repeated throughout the Slavic and Western world and which inspired the writer, the girl dies as a result of the shock within two days, and so the punishment is completed.

Mgr. Petr Horák
, the author of the medal, was inspired by the depressing atmosphere of Erben's collection while creating the relief.

The medal is set in a special packaging which includes a
whole poem. Moreover, you can store the seven-part collection in a collector's box.
