Product description

A newborn baby is always mainly observed and his closest ones compete whoever give him or her a better gift. The Czech Mint has prepared silver commemorative medals, which means thalers for the birth of child suitable for everybody who seeks original but also traditional present.

Our ancestors have been used to donate the coin for happiness to newborn children. Babies in the families of wealthy nobles as well as poor peasants used to receive the charm in the form of a precious metal usually from godfathers or godparents. The coins were placed in the cradle, when originated the verbal phrase "do vínku" (or to the blazon), which means to endow a new-born child with a talent or a character trait and "to the baby duvet", which are still used to this day. The time of these coins in the Czech lands began in the Renaissance era and ended in the 19th century, when the church began to issue its own baptismal medals. The state began to publish the so-called St. Wenceslas ducats which people quickly popularized after the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic in the 20th century. The Czech Mint continues in the 21st century.

The talented female medal maker Lenka Nebeská, DiS became the author of the art theme of the silver thaler for 2018. On the obverse side there is sleeping baby held by parents in the palm of their hands, together with the inscription THALER FOR BIRTH OF CHILD 2018. The reverse side then belongs to the traditional children's toy - the rocking horse.

Attractive gift packaging in the form of a fold-out booklet contains, besides the thaler, also a space for inscribing birthday, personal dedication and inserting a baby picture.
