If you want to stand out among the usual gifts that the newlyweds expect, choose the wedding ducat of the Czech Mint that combines the value of gold with traditional symbolism.

The old saying says that every man has to build a house, plant a tree, and father a son in his life. Anecdote then adds with typical Czech humor that the woman has to clean up the house, water the tree and take care of two men. It is not entirely certain where this wisdom comes from, however, it is claimed by Germans and Russians, and some experts of etymology attribute it to the Czechs. However, its roots can be traced back to the time of the ancient Babylonian Talmud, which says that the man first has to build a house, then plant a vineyard and then get married. In any case, it is a true expression of the three basic senses of human being that concern men and women which are partnership coexistence, common property and parenthood.

These three traditional values are also confessed by the young medal maker Roman Shamilyan, who is the author of the new form of the wedding ducat for 2018. Both sides of the mintage are treated as a clockwork composed of countless toothed wheels that symbolize a well-functioning marriage. In the middle of them there are according to old saying the pictograms of the house, the tree and the pram, supplemented by heart and four leaf clover, which means the necessary symbols of love and happiness without any family can live. The composition is complemented by a inscription on the obverse side: WEDDING DUCAT 2018.
