5 Ducat CR 2018 Czech State Border proof
The relief of the traditional ducats of the Czech Republic is dedicated to the attributes that define and represent our sovereign state both inside and outside in 2018, when we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the existence of the independent Czech Republic. The gold mintage weighing five-ducat is dominated by the state boundaries.
State borders define the sovereign land as an integral unit, which means the sovereign territory of the Earth's surface separated from the neighboring states. They are a line where unique legal orders and cultures whose interests are different and often dispute with each other meet. National borders are therefore often the place and reason of conflicts. Nevertheless, they are not impervious. National borders allow free economic, human, mental and other flows, and become more symbolic at the time of advanced international integration.
The obverse side of the five-ducat, whose design comes from the studio of an experienced medal maker and academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů, presents a map of the Czech Republic divided into individual self-governing regions. Other pieces of the puzzle are the two-tailed Czech lion and the inscriptions of FIVE-DUCAT OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC – NATIONAL BORDERS. Also the reverse side bears a heraldic lion together with the Moravian and Silesian eagle. Inscriptions on the reverse side indicate 2018 - 25 YEARS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
Traditional gold mintage weighing five ducats with the year 2018 comes in a mere 100 pieces.
