Golden advisor or investment coin

In the context of gold, derivatives whose price is derived from the precious metal are most often traded on exchanges around the world. But gold is attractive to investors mainly because people can own this commodity in physical form.

Gold appears in the vaults of investors and sellers in several variants. The most common are gold bars or bricks. Bars are smaller, processed pieces of gold. As a rule, they have a weight of one troy ounce (31 grams), because the value of gold is expressed in this unit on the stock exchange.

Gold bars are larger pieces of precious metal shaped into a block. Most often they have a weight of 500 grams or 1 kilogram. However, a more special option for investing in gold can be gold coins, which combine the valued properties of the precious metal with collectible attributes.

Gold coins are sold on the basis of a given issue, which usually includes only a limited number of coins. At the same time, different issues have a different value, which depends on the number of pieces of coins in a given collection, the nature of the issue and the design. The price of gold coins is therefore variable due to the specifics described, unlike traditional bars and bricks.

"The Czech Mint is one of the leading sellers of investment gold in the Czech Republic. We offer clients gold commemorative coins or medals that come from extremely rare issues. On the coins we sell, you will find the national symbols of the Czech Republic and Slovakia."

Some gold coins can be purchased for just a few thousand crowns, but more valuable pieces from the best issues are sold for hundreds of thousands of crowns.

As in the case of classic coins, the minting of investment coins often touches on national symbols. Thus, one can find a lion, an eagle or important Czech personalities on gold coins. In addition to gold coins, investment gold medals, which are usually larger and are issued in only a few pieces, have collector value. In the next installment of the Golden Advisor, the Czech Mint's investment guide, we will look at precious metals.
