Part four. Let's take a look at my coin investments so far
It's been a few months since I started investing in coins as an amateur as well as collecting coins to limit the impact of inflation on my modest income and savings. So let's see how my first three "investments" fared - a 1/25 oz gold numbered Tolar investment coin that I bought for €133, a one ounce silver Czech Lion 2022 - Anniversary ruthenium investment coin that cost me €62 and ended up being investment gold coin - 1/25 oz Czech Lev 2018. I paid €119 for it.
Last month I wrote that my first coin for €133 rose from CZK 4,100 to CZK 4,499 at auctions. Today, the offer has stabilized at these values. So in the range from about €176 to about €180. The appreciation is still above 30%, according to demand up to 35%, just like last month. I don't expect the price to move anytime soon, it seems to be the current ceiling.
The second investment, the silver one-ounce investment coin Czech Lion 2022 - anniversary, ruthenium, however, improved. Last time, its price at auctions was CZK 2,250, but that was before the end of the auction. As I expected, the price went up. Today it is already offered for 2,450 CZK, which is €98 when roughly converted. So from €90 it has grown by another €8 and my original investment of €62 is valued at €98 today, which is really fantastic!
Well, what about the last coin - 1/25 oz Czech Lion 2018, stand? I bought it for €119 and today it sells for around €200 on auctions! This coin is also doing well. Well, don't worry :-) ...
I was faced with a decision, what to invest in this time?
As I wrote in the second blog, I was captivated by the beauty of the silver investment coin - anniversary, coated with gold and ruthenium. I am still as excited about her as I was the first day. And so I decided to add a "sister" to it - the Czech lion silver ounce coin, this time without ruthenium treatment, just pure silver and a lion coated with pure gold. However, numbered. It is just as beautiful, for some even more so than the one with ruthenium. I also bought it at the Czech Mint for €62. That was about a month ago, so today I can see how she is doing.
Like her sister - she made me happy. It has appreciated even more than the one with ruthenium, but it is an amazing 112 €, so in a short time its value has increased by 50 €, if it continues like this it will soon double, an appreciation of 100%! Great. Either I have such a good sense of smell, or I listen well to the advice of people from the Czech Mint, or... I don't know what or I could add. Coins minted in Jablonec are simply doing well.
I will contact you again in a month and let you know.
