The Czech Mint dedicated the gold coins weighing two troy ounces to the great historical pairs. Cyril and Methodius appear in the relief of the first mintage intended for Slovak collectors and investors.

The apostles Cyril and Methodius
arrived in Great Moravia in the summer of year of grace 863. Prince Rostislav invited them from Constantinople to bring Christianity to the Slavic nation. However, the educated brothers - Cyril was a professor, Methodius a lawyer - did much more. They brought not only the Christian religion, but also its culture, traditions, values and education to the country in the heart of Europe. They created the first Slavic "Glagolitic" script and the church language "Old Slavonic". Thanks to their efforts, they won the hearts and minds of the inhabitants of the Great Moravian Empire - they became teachers of ordinary people and provincial princes, who accepted their faith as their own. Christianity spread in an intelligible form helped to reduce the influence of the expanding Frankish Empire, and the arrival of the "Apostles of the Slavs" is one of the most important events in the cultural and political development of early medieval Europe.

The reverse side of the coin, processed by the Slovak medal maker
Mária Poldaufová, is dedicated to the holy brothers, who present Glagolitic script to the Slavs. The composition of the reverse is supplemented with Great Moravian ornaments, a two-armed cross and an inscription CYRIL A METOD. Since the coins of the Czech Mint are licensed by a foreign issuer, the island of Niue, the obverse side bears its necessary attributes - a nominal value of 100 DOLLARS (NZD), the name and the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. and the year of issue 2021.
