Product description
Nine significant personalities who shaped the Czech history are featured on nine splendid gold ducats included in the series Czechoslovak Presidents. The second of them portrays the second President of the Czechoslovak Republic Edvard Beneš who was elected in 1935 after the resignation of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. It was struck in autumn 2014.
The design of unique gold ducats was created by academic sculptor Jiří Dostál. On the obverse of the gold ducat the author placed the effigy of the President, his name, years of birth and death and text PŘEDSTAVITEL ČESKOSLOVENSKÉHO ODBOJE (Representative of the Czechoslovak Resistance). The reverse is dominated by the coat-of-arms of the Czechoslovak Republic which partly covers the historical map of the country. Around the rim we can read the text PREZIDENT ČESKOSLOVENSKA (President of Czechoslovakia) and dates of periods when Edvard Beneš was in office. Thanks to its exceptionally beautiful design the gold ducat Edvard Beneš is a splendid work of art, as well as an affordable investment!
