The Bouquet

The motif of the third gold ducat from the seven-part cycle inspired by the Bouquet (Czech: Kytice) of Karel Jaromír Erben became a poem called Svatební košile.

The horror ballad
tells - as typical for Erben's collection - about guilt and punishment. This time, however, it is not a worldly sin, but an insult to God. The main character of the poem is an abandoned girl whose loved ones died and who longs for the return of a loved one from abroad. She prays to the Virgin Mary and blasphemes when she gives ultimatums to the heavenly forces and puts her life on the line. A supernatural punishment in the form of a lovely girl comes soon - in fact, a mortal who prepares her a night full of horror. Only penance and a return to true faith will save the girl from impure forces.

Medal maker
Mgr. Petr Horák, the author of the gold mintage, was inspired by the depressing atmosphere of Erben's collection while creating the relief.

The ducat is set in a special packaging that includes
a whole poem. You can store the collection of seven ducats in a collector's box.
