Product description

The sixth mintage, by which has the Czech Mint livened up the extraordinarily popular collectible series Czechoslovak football legends, presents a sporty person, whom everyone knows, even those, who stayed completely untouched by the love for a football. Antonín Panenka. A great guy. Master. Phenomenon. The fact that gold suits him, was proved forty years ago in the former Yugoslavia. And certainly suits him even now - in the form of the original gold quarter-ounce Smart coin 10 NZD.

An excellent former footballer of Czechoslovakia played for the national team since 1973, within nine years, in sixty matches, in which he scored 17 goals. The most important one, the one which the whole world is still talking about, was scored in 1976 during a penalty shootout in the final of the European Championships in Belgrade, when the national team won the very first and so far only continental title. His so-called "Vršovický dloubák" entered the history of sports - like himself - and became the inspiration for the next generation of players.

Antonín Panenka lived to see a dozens of recognition, such as Dr. Václav Jíra award for the contribution the national football and was also inducted into the Hall of Fame of Czech football. His merits were also appreciated by the former President of Czech Republic Václav Klaus, who awarded him the State commendation - the Medal of Merit - first grade. The Czech Mint does not stay behind with the honours, and as a symbol of admiration devoted to Antonín Panenka a Smart coin made of pure gold.

The reverse of an attractive mintage is adorned with the well known portrait of the famous footballer, designed by an excellent medalist Asamat Baltaev, DiS. The author has completed the composition by an inscriptions ANTONÍN PANENKA, BELGRADE, CHAMPION OF EUROPE, the year 1976, and the signature of the player. The obverse of the Smart coin in premium quality proof is common to all mintage series and is made by another outstanding artist MgA. Martin Dašek. The surface carries an aerial collage composed of attributes of the issuer and the logo of the Foundation of Football Internationales - a football in the shape of a heart. Czech football lovers know how to save their money in a meaningful and valuable way. The issue is however limited to just 200 pieces, hurry up!
