The Czech Mint, a traditional producer of circulation and commemorative coins and one of the largest physical gold traders in the Czech Republic, has appointed a new CEO, Michal Voborník.

Michal Voborník joins the Czech Mint with the aim of expanding on the successes achieved by the company during the tenure of Ing. Michal Drtina, and further developing activities in minting and investing in precious metals both domestically and internationally. He comes to the minting and precious metals trade after 17 years of experience in executive positions – among others at Saint-‍Gobain Isover and ORPA Papír, where he gradually worked his way up from purchasing and logistics manager to plant manager and finally to the position of CEO.

"My priority goal is to achieve a systemic setup of processes, order, efficient growth and a pleasant atmosphere, just like in my previous position. I am here to ensure change, eliminate unnecessary work and gradually set up ideal internal processes so that our customers are positively surprised by the high level, reliability and quality of our services," said the new CEO of the Czech Mint upon taking up his position.

Michal Voborník replaced the company's CEO Michal Drtina, who during his six-year tenure contributed to a significant increase in the brand awareness of the Czech Mint. "The previous CEO deserves a big thank you for the tremendous amount of good work he has done in his position. I look forward to further fruitful cooperation with him," thanked Michal Voborník to his predecessor. During Michal Drtina’s leadership, the Czech Mint produced, for example, a 100-kilogram gold coin with a nominal value of CZK 100 million for the Czech National Bank on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Czech-‍Slovak koruna. In terms of its production method, it is the largest coin of its kind in the world. The Czech Mint has also received two entries in the Czech Book of Records for the mass-produced Czech Lion gold coins weighing 5 and 10 kilograms.

Michal Drtina has accepted the position of Key Account Director and in this role he will be responsible for the care of the Czech Mint's most important clients.
