Golden tennis girls from Tokyo

After the four men who won gold medals at the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, two women appear on the Czech Mint's commemorative coins - the accomplished doubles players Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková, who brought the very first Czech tennis gold from the land of the rising sun.

Both tennis players visited the headquarters of the Czech Mint in Jablonec nad Nisou to collect their coins in person.

"It is a special experience to stamp yourself on a coin. The relief captures the moment when we were arguing during the game, which was one of the keys to our victory at the Olympics," Barbora Krejčíková confided.

"It's an honor and I'm thrilled to be here. The coin is beautiful and the details on it are incredible - I was just admiring the fact that there's even a hairpin in my hair. I can't wait to buy one," said Kateřina Siniaková.

Thank you for visiting us - it was an honour!
