Set of circulation coins 2019 Pardubice Region stand
Set of circulation coins 2019 Plzen Region stand
The Czech Mint together with the Czech National Bank issued a traditional set of circulating coins that introduces our regions in 2019. This was dedicated to a number of beautiful places of the Pardubice Region.
The Pardubice Region is situated in the eastern part of Bohemia in the north-western edge of the historical territory of Moravia. It is full of natural beauty and sights. Litomyšl Castle with rich sgraffito decoration is the birthplace of Bedřich Smetana. Moreover, Bohuslav Martinů was born in the tower of the Church of St. James the Greater. Moreover, the ruins of Košumberk Castle hosted the Czech Brethren School, where Albrecht of Wallenstein studied, and the ruins of Kunětická Hora Castle served the Hussites, the Pernštejn family and the fairy-tale magician Rumburak… The region also boasts unique regional traditions - the production of Pardubice gingerbread and the breeding of the Kladruby horse, which was the only living creature included in the UNESCO list of intangible heritage. Other famous tradition would be Velká Pardubická - the most difficult cross-country steeplechase run in continental Europe.
The obverse side of the commemorative token was processed by Ludmila Kodytková, DiS. It is dominated by the Green Gate - the dominant feature of the Pardubice fortifications, which gave the name to the characteristic copper roof. The reverse side of the token presents the emblem of the Pardubice Region, the Gothic Church of St. Bartholomew with an unusual Baroque bridge and the Veselý kopec open-air museum, which commemorates the village history. This set can not miss circulating coins - six metal coins with nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK that were issued in 2019 and that have never been in circulation. They were stored in a thematic packaging in the form of a czech-english booklet that commemorates the most interesting landmarks of the region in words and images.
You can store the set dedicated to the Pardubice Region in a practical collector's box which you can also find in the offer of the Czech Mint.
