The 2014 set of circulation coins is dedicated to the most significant sights of the Czech Republic.
The set contains standard valid Czech coins at face values of CZK 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 that were not released into general circulation. The coins together with an original token made of Nordic Gold bearing the set’s motif are sealed in colourful carton folders. The token was designed for Czech Mint by talented medallist Irena Hradecká.
High quality lacquered folder forms a colour leporelo decorated with impressive photo-collage of places of interest throughout the Czech Republic. Prague Castle as one of the largest castle complexes worldwide stands out among them. Another Prague sight depicted on the folder is the statue of St. Wenceslas, the well-known dominating feature of Wenceslas Square. It is related to the patron of the country as well as the oldest pilgrimage place in Bohemia – Stará Boleslav. The Říp mountain also has a firm place in the Bohemian history and is highlighted in the photo-collage. A photo of Stadice, the village from where Přemysl Oráč (Přemysl the Ploughman) – the legendary husband of princess Libuše – was called to Vyšehrad castle, reminds of the oldest history of the nation. Another depicted site is the unique pilgrimage place Svatá Hora near Příbram. Other two photos take us to Moravia – the first one, St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral in the very center of Brno, on a rocky promontory called Petrov. The last sight presented on the folder of the 2014 circulation coins set is the renowned Marian place of pilgrimage Hostýn.
The set of circulation coins is a popular item among collectors but it is also as favoured token. Surprise your kin and friends for whom the year 2014 is special for any reason with an untraditional gift. Limited edition: 5,000 pieces.
