Product description

The first commemorative silver coin in a quality proof, from the new five-year cycle of the Czech National Bank, with a nominal value of CZK 200 is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the triumphant event of our history - General Land Centennial Exhibition. It proved, that the Czech lands are culturally, socially and primarily economically on a high level and can be compared with a supercilious haughty monarchies.

The Commission for assessments of the proposals of Czech money has chosen a graphic design from Asamat Baltaev, a talented graduate from Jablonec medal school. It is his second victory in the competition of the CNB.

Both sides of the coin are a showcase of the marvels, which the General Land Centennial Exhibition introduced to the world. On the obverse is a funicular railway to Petřín, its scheme and even a part of the engine room. There is also another iconic vehicle of the exhibition, which was the first electric railway in the Czech Lands and unfinished Petřín Observation Tower. The reverse side is dedicated to the entrance gate of the exhibition, which welcomes the visitors with Palace of Industry, and annual years 1891 and 2016.
