Silver coin Legends of Czech Ice hockey Pavel Patera proof
The silver coins of the Czech Mint from the "Legends of Czechoslovak hockey" cycle are issued on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Nagano Olympic triumph. The centre Pavel Patera is another "golden boy" to be commemorated.
“Patýs“, the striker, Olympic champion and quadruple world champion, belonged to the inconspicuous, but absolutely irreplaceable figures of the national team in Nagano. He scored our very first goal and passed the puck in the semifinals and then contributed to the winning goal in the final. The very last event, which took place on February 22, 1998, is the most famous in the history of Czech hockey: Pavel Patera won the throw in the offensive zone and Martin Procházka passed it on the blue to Petr Svoboda, who shuffled and fired ... The goal scored in 49th minute of the final, secured not only the gold Olympic medal, but also the 1: 0 victory over the Russians, our natural hockey enemies ...
Medal maker and teacher Mgr. Petr Horák, author of the sports coin, dedicated the reverse side to a faithful portrait of the forward, surrounded by a comprehensive inscription: PAVEL PATERA - NAGANO 1998 - WORLD MASTER 1996 1999 2000 2001 - MEMBER OF THE CZECH HOCKEY´S HALL OF FAME. The number 10 of Patera's jersey is another detail of the reverse side. Coins of the Czech Mint are issued in a foreign license of the state of Samoa, and their obverse side therefore bears the attributes, which are the portrait and the name of the emperor Elizabeth II, state emblem, the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (WST), together with the year of the issue 2018.
Do not forget that you can store the entire fourteen-piece series of ice hockey coins in a stylish collector´s etui in the form of a puck.
