The Jungle Book

The last silver coin from the Czech Mint's four-part miniseries inspired by Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book features Akela's wolf pack.

Akela
, the great grey Indian wolf, is the strong and wise leader of the 40-headed pack, which includes an orphan boy named Mowgli. The human cub's journey to becoming a member of the wolf family has not been easy. The wolves initially considered throwing Mowgli to a tiger, but despite their doubts, Akela became his mentor. As a gentleman to whom honour is everything, he taught the human responsibility and the laws of family. Then, when the treacherous tiger Sher Khan staged an uprising of young wolves, Mowgli faithfully repaid his adoptive father and saved his life... Akela left the pack, but remained the boy's loyal friend. He helped him to end the rampage of the "Tiger King" and saved a pack that had turned its back on him at the cost of his own life...

The reverse side of the coin, which is the work of medal maker
Asamat Baltaev, DiS., is dominated by a wolf family - the big and strong Akela, little Mowgli and three young wolves. The English inscription THE WOLF PACK AND AKELA completes the composition. The obverse side of the coin then presents an Indian jungle full of unruly monkeys. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with the foreign licence of the island of Niue, they also bear the name and portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse side, the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD) and the year of issue 2022.

Remember that you can store the complete four-piece coin collection in a special
collector's box, which you can also find in the Czech Mint's offer.
