The medal devoted to John Fitzgerald Kennedy commemorates the 35^th US President (1917–1963), whose life was prematurely ended by a bullet of an assassin in 1963 in Dallas, Texas. The medal was issued on the occasion of the 50^th anniversary of Kennedy’s election to the White House. The name of this popular US president is connected with words he said in his inauguration speech in January 1961: Do not ask what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.

The reverse side shows the Capitol – seat of the American Congress in Washington, D.C.
