The Bouquet

The motif of the fourth silver medal from the seven-part cycle inspired by the Bouquet of Karel Jaromír Erben was a poem called Daughter's Curse.

Erben's favorite topic is
motherhood. He presents the love between mother and children to be very strong and eternal. However, the lyrical-epic composition Daughter's Curse deals with the violation of this basic natural relationship and tells the story of a girl who killed her illegitimate child. The crushed murderer is aware of her horrific act and wants to pay for it at the execution ground, but she blames her loved one, who betrayed her, and especially her mother, who misbehaved her and did not protect her from the temptations of insidious desire. Therefore, she curses both culprits…

The author of the obverse side of the medal is
Mgr. Petr Horák, who was inspired by the depressing atmosphere of Erben's collection while creating the relief. He placed a desperate girl, a child in a wrap, over which a dove is crying, and a gallows hill in the collage. The reverse side, which is the work of MgA. Jan Hásk and which is common to the whole series, then presents a rich puget, in which, in addition to various flowers, a human skull is hidden.

The medal is set in a special packaging that includes
a complete poem. You can then save the collection of seven medals in the collector's box.
