Product description

Are you thinking about a tasteful and valuable gift for newlyweds? The Slovak version of the gold wedding ducat from the Czech Mint is just such a gift.

Wedding customs of many nations are associated with coins. You have probably heard that a bride should have
something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue on her big day. However, this tradition, which is based on an old English rhyme, has a fifth part that is forgotten - it is the penny that the bride is supposed to put in her shoe to bring happiness, wealth and prosperity to her new family. Moreover, the coins - like the main attribute of today's weddings in the form of rings - are round, thus symbolizing infinity.

The art design of the
gold ducat was prepared by medal maker Lenka Nebeská, DiS. On the obverse side there is the inscription SVADOBNÝ DUKÁT and a pair of hearts, between which a decorative ribbon is intertwined. The reverse side is dedicated to the bride and groom riding on a bicycle, which is indeed a fitting analogy for marriage. Tandem riding requires complete harmony and mutual trust between both riders. If they both pull together, work at the same pace, have the same goal, and are considerate of each other, their reward is less work and more speed, but also more fun and admiration from those around them. But when riders behave selfishly and refuse to adapt to each other's needs, riding a two-wheeler turns into an unpleasant experience and can end in a serious crash...

Ducat is packed in a gift box together with a certificate of authenticity.
