Establishing cooperation with DMCC
The Czech Mint began to write a new stage of its history. Last year, it opened a branch in Dubai, and in March of this year, it concluded a cooperation agreement with DMCC, the world's largest free trade zone in the United Arab Emirates. Its result is new investment coins.
Each of us knows the products of the Czech Mint very well. It is in its branch in Jablonec nad Nisou that the metal coins with which we pay daily, as well as a whole range of collector and investment coins made of precious metals, are created. Newly, however, people in the Middle East, specifically in the United Arab Emirates, will be able to admire the art of local master medalists. Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem, Executive President and CEO of the Dubai Commodity Center DMCC, entered into a collaboration with the Czech Mint in March of this year, which brings new investment coins, gold and silver.
The front pages bear the likeness of Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, or Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. The Louvre Abu Dhabi or the Museum of the Future are embossed on the opposite sides.
Coins that can win hearts
Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem met the art of the Czech Mint for the very first time at Expo 2020 and does not hesitate to call it a dream come true. Even then, he was said to have marveled at the perfect execution of the coinage.
“I have been in the goldsmith industry for 21 years and these are some of the best, if not the best, mints out there. They have won my heart," says Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem enthusiastically.
The new coin prototype is inspired by the greatest achievements of the United Arab Emirates in the last fifty years.
Silver and gold investment coins, the so-called bullion coins, were introduced to the market by DMCC after the end of Ramadan. In addition to the pair of new coins, the Czech Mint will also mint previous editions of investment coins. “These collections will be in circulation as long as people want to mint gold coins. They are so beautiful I can't describe it. However, I think they will be close to the hearts of every UAE resident and all visitors to both museums," believes Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem.
The CEO of the Dubai Commodity Center DMCC personally visited the Czech Mint in Jablonec nad Nisou, where, accompanied by Michal Drtina, he inspected the operation and even tried the minting himself.
"This is the start of a new chapter in the history of the Czech Mint in Dubai. After a year of cooperation, planning and fine-tuning of designs between our and Dubai artists, we expect successful cooperation," says the CEO of the Czech Mint.
The partnership with DMCC aims to facilitate global trade in gold and other precious metals.
