New partner of the Czech Mint is DMCC, the world leader in free trade in Dubai

What does the world leader in free trade in Dubai, DMCC, have in common with the Czech Jablonec nad Nisou? The answer is the investment coins minted by the local Czech Mint. Its work impressed the DMCC's director general, Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem, so much that he entered into a partnership with the mint and entrusted it with the minting of two new and four already sold bullion coins. For the Czech master medallists, this is an extraordinary testament to their talent and skill.

The Dubai Multi Commodities Center, DMCC for short, is the largest free trade zone today. It has been operating in Dubai since 2002. It serves as a place to live and a stock exchange at the same time. It trades in four sectors - precious commodities such as precious metals and gems, energy, steel and metals, and lastly agricultural products.

DMCC is an impressive place at first sight. The modern architecture combined with nature (three man-made lakes, gardens and the Persian Gulf in sight) will impress many a visitor. It can be imagined as individual clusters of skyscrapers surrounded by greenery and water. Less than half an hour's drive from here will take you to the world's tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa. Plus, it's close to Al Maktoum International Airport.

The DMCC is a free zone where business, work and life is done. There are luxury hotels, shops, restaurants, cafes, cinemas and playgrounds for locals and tourists alike, and plenty of other venues.

The Almas Tower is the headquarters of the DMCC, with 68 floors, making it the thirty-first tallest building in the world as of 2008. It houses approximately 1,000 diamond companies, as well as diamond vaults and shops.

Cooperation with the Czech Mint

In the near future, the DMCC wants to facilitate global trade in gold and other precious metals. The cooperation with the Czech Mint, which was chosen and personally visited in Jablonec nad Nisou by DMCC CEO Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem, will help the company to achieve this. In cooperation with Czech and Arab medallists, a pair of new investment coins made of gold and silver was created. The Czech Mint will also mint four original Arab investment coins.

A year ago, the Czech Mint opened its branch in Dubai.

Awards for DMCC

In its 15 years of existence, the DMCC has received a number of prestigious awards. The Financial Times has named it the World's Number One Free Zone eight times in a row. It has also won the Global Islamic Finance Award for the Best Supporting Institution, or the Facilitating Most Innovative Structured Transaction Award in 2007, Deal of the Year.
