Product description

The fates of Czechs and Slovaks were never easy, but it was quite stormy in the 20th century. We fought our own state just before we lost it. Whenever we got at least the impression of freedom, someone appeared to try to take it. Still, we held on.

It is noteworthy that the most important chronicles that shaped the history of Czechoslovakia or even the whole continent end with an eight. We recall their anniversaries in 2018:

  • The birth of Czechoslovakia in 1918 - 100th anniversary (the end of the First World War, the abolition of monarchy, the establishment of the independent state of the Czechs and Slovaks)
  • Munich agreement 1938 - 80th anniversary (Allied betrayal, rift of Czechoslovakia, the premonition of the Second World War)
  • Winning February 1948 - 70th anniversary (Communist coup, Communist Party, Connection to the Soviet Power Bloc)
  • Prague Spring 1968 - 50th anniversary (the period of liberalization, the hope for socialism with the human face, the invasion of Warsaw Pact troops)

In the miniseries of four gold coins of the Czech Mint "Revolutionary Eights", these breakthroughs are expressed through the transformation of the two-tailed Czech lion, which is a symbol of strength, courage and resilience. The complete collection will uniquely describe the past history of our nation during the past 100 years. It is made of wood, the cap is decorated with thematic graphics and you can find an illustrated enclosure inside. You can save it to this collector's etui.
