Gold coins are not just for numismatists - more and more investors are amazed by their charm. The Czech Mint dedicated a number of bullion coins to them. These coins are issued with a foreign license and meet the standards universally accepted worldwide. The smallest “Czech Lion” weighs 1/25 troy ounces.
'Yellow metal' diversifies risk, preserves value, is exempt from VAT and offers interesting appreciation. The ideal solution for anyone who wants to deposit money in precious metals, but also wants to own something with a collector's price is to invest in commemorative coins. However, more and more investors collect coins mainly for their high liquidity and easy tradability and do not want to pay extra for numismatic value. Therefore, the Czech Mint issued a number of purely investment coins with foreign license as first of its kind minted in the Czech Republic.
However, the fact that you do not pay for collectible and artistic value when buying investment coins does not mean that they cannot have it. All variants of the Czech Mint's investment coins were reworked in 2020, but the main idea remained. Besides the Czech lion in an untraditionally realistic presentation, the reverse side of the gold coin presents two more symbols of Czech statehood - the St Wenceslas crown, which rests on the head of a two-tailed beast, together with an eagle on the shield. The medal maker Asamat Baltaev, DiS. became the author of the relief. The obverse side bears the attributes of the island of Niue, which provides the Czech Mint with a foreign license to mint its own coins. It bears the portrait and the name of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of the issue 2020 and the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD). All this is supplemented with linden branches.
The low weight of gold investment coins enables to easily regulate how much money you invest in them. The schedule of issuance counts 10000 pieces - 9475 pieces of which are stored in a protective capsule (another 25 pieces are part of comprehensive sets of gold investment coins and 500 pieces are placed in a numbered collector´s packaging).
