Product description

AC Sparta Prague, the football club from Letná completed successfully its journey through the 2013/2014 Gambrinus League and won its 36th title. To mark the victory the Club ordered a very limited mintage of gold commemorative medals. Czech Mint will strike mere 100 pieces of them for AC Sparta and along with the annual medals they will become a very precious and sought-after collector item!

For Sparta, the 2013/2014 football season began with failure in the form of an early finish in the European League. However, less than a year afterwards the players, coaches and fans have a reason to be really happy. After four years, Sparta’s football players have won the title of a champion in great style. It took 27 rounds for them to experience the defeat of a league match. In autumn and spring they won the famous derby with its age-old rival Slavia. And at the beginning of spring they also defeated Viktoria Plzeň, their biggest competitor in the combat for the league victory.

In addition to it, captain David Lafata became the best scorer in the history of the independent Czech highest football tournament, Bořek Dočkal overcame the record in the number of assistances in one year, while Josef Hušbauer scored the most goals during one season from the position of midfielder in the entire history. Sparta topped the successful season with a double win when it defeated Viktoria Plzeň in a shoot-out after a dramatic finale.

Gold half-ounce medals are packaged in luxurious scarlet velvet cases. The cup of the winner of the league AC Sparta Praha is featured on the reverse of the medal. On the obverse side we can see the club’s logo.

"I am happy that we fulfilled the dream of all Sparta fans, the award does not just belong to the players but to the club leadership and all the other people in the club because they really deserve it as well."

Three reasons why own the medals

  • It is more than likely that their price will go up after the issue is sold out. The number of copies is really low and not many medals will be launched on the market.
  • The experience with the sold out medal Václav Havel confirms 20% appreciation in less than two years regardless of the drop in the gold prices from USD 1,650 USD to USD 1,240.
  • Medals are an official mintage created in cooperation with AC Sparta Praha – for a fan of the Letná club it is an ideal gift as well as an investment.
