Product description
Following Look-out towers Cvilín and Žalý, the Czech Mint will enrich the popular series of Towers with another extraordinary building -
a lookout tower with a poetic name Krásenský hill , to which is dedicated the investment medal of pure gold, weighing one troy ounce of exceptional quality proof.
The impressive tower Krásenský hill was one of the few positive impacts of the economic crisis of the 30’s and of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia - opened for public in 1935. Its construction was decided, among other things, that local residents would be provided at least with some income and to increase tourism in the area and nearby spa towns of Karlovy Vary and Frantiskovy Lázně. The reconstructed lookout tower is now as popular with tourists as it was in its heyday. It was also noticed by the filmmakers that the tower played the role of a prison in the movie Angel Face directed by Zdeněk Troška. Based on a readers' poll in 2011, it was also elected the most beautiful observation tower of Czech Republic, with a convincing lead over the other candidates.
The artistic form of one ounce gold medals Krásenský hill was acquitted by the educator and artist Josef Oplištil. The dominating feature of both, the obverse and reverse, is a faithful representation of the lookout tower with creatively used staircase detail. Featured in a circle on the face are the words "TOWER HILL KRÁSENSKÁ". The reverse side completes the theme with concentric rounds and signs of contour lines, showing the names of the surrounding hills, "LYSINA", "THE GOVERNOR" and "PODHORNÍ HILL". On the horizon and then in the distance shines "KRUŠNÉ MOUNTAINS" and "KLÍNOVEC". This work of art with great investment potential will appeal to not only numismatists, but also to lovers of unique pieces of our country, in which lookout tower Krásenský Hill definitely belongs. The issue is strictly limited to just 300 pieces!
