Slovak woman of the year 2023

On June 23, 2023, the 15th edition of the prestigious Slovak Woman of the Year poll culminated with a gala evening. The Czech Mint was there. We are a proud partner of this poll, where Slovak women are appreciated, who are the wealth of this country.

The English playwright, novelist and short story writer William Somerset Maugham had an apt statement about women which reads:

"Only a woman knows what a woman is capable of."

Of course, many will immediately understand this as a bit threatening, but when it is combined with another statement, this time from the American Brigham Young:

"When you educate a man, you educate a man. When you educate a woman, you educate a generation," the meaning of the words that only a woman knows what a woman can do takes on completely different contours.

The two statements made by men create the impression that in order for women to be appreciated, they need to hear praise from men. Thanks for her. But women know what they can do.

It is an honor and a joy for the Czech Mint that there is such an important event as Slovak Woman of the Year, where women from their ranks can choose and appreciate those who are capable of following and who are an inspiration. Because while we are talking about the sayings of the wise and famous, one of the most popular was once again said by a man - Albert Einstein:

"A woman who follows the crowd usually doesn't get any further than the crowd. A woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in a place where no one has been before."

This year's laureates of the Slovak Woman of the Year title were also the same. Curious, perceptive, hardworking and proud of what they have achieved and can still achieve.

As representatives of the Czech Mint, a company that has minted all coins for the Czech Republic for 30 years and specializes in minting coins, medals, ducats and many other products from precious metals, we are proud of our women and all the women of the world as a partner of the Slovak Woman of the Year. who stepped out of the crowd and went where no one else had been.

Because the nomination itself deserves to be recognized, all nominees of the poll received a special silver medal from the Czech Mint with their own name, the year of nomination and the logo of the Slovak Woman of the Year poll.

On behalf of the Czech Mint, the director Ľudmila Fülöpová presented the awards.

The winner in the Business and management category was Ing. Denisa Kanásová
The winner in the Media and Communication category was Mgr. Art. Iveta Malachovská, PhD.
The winner in the Arts and Culture category was Dara Rolins
The winner in the Science and research category was prof. JUDr. Gabriela Dobrovičová, CSc.
The winner in the category Support of young talents was PaedDr. Silvia Manďuláková, PhD., who also received the Absolute Slovak of the Year 2023 award.
The winner in the Education category was doc. Ing. Viera Peterková, PhD.
The winner in the Sport category was Mgr. Mária Potočná
The winner in the Charity category was Mgr. Katarína Novotná
The winner in the Healthcare category was MUDr. Mária Katuščáková
In addition to the main categories, they also awarded two special awards. They got them Eva Kováčová and Katarína Hanzelová.
