Sets of circulation coins

The traditional sports set of circulating coins of the Czech Mint and the Czech National Bank is dedicated to the Summer Games in France in 2024.

The host of the Summer Games was France in 2024. The main venue of the biggest sports festival on the planet was Paris, which was followed by 16 other cities. However, some athletes were separated from mainland France by more than 15,000 kilometres. The surfing medals were fought for in Tahiti, French Polynesia. After London, Paris made history as only the second metropolis to host the Summer Games for the third time. They were held here in 1900 and 1924, and so returned to the French capital exactly 100 years later. Athletes from all over the world could win medals in 32 sports and 329 disciplines. Starting with the previous Games in Tokyo, the organisers have the right to propose sports that are popular in their country. In France, breakdance - or dancing with acrobatic elements - was introduced for the first time.

The set includes six circulating coins with nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK, which were minted in 2024 and have not been circulated. Another piece of the puzzle is a special commemorative token from the workshop of the medal maker MgA. Martin Dašek. The coloured mintage bears the French national stadium Stade de France and the French tricolour, which evokes the Eiffel Tower in its shape.

All of this is stored in a special thematic packaging.
