This silver coin pays tribute to the adored Marvel comics superhero known to the world as Iron Man.

When Tony Stark was orphaned, he inherited the company founded by his father. A man of many talents, he managed to make it in the cutthroat world of business and quickly became an admired icon - a fabulously wealthy industrialist, a brilliant engineer and an irresistible playboy. At the same time, however, he was an arrogant, selfish man who valued profit over human life. He was developing weapons of mass destruction for the US army and one day he unwisely decided to travel directly to a war zone to personally test them. In enemy territory, he was seriously wounded, kidnapped and forced to work for his captors. Instead of weapons, however, he built armor that kept his damaged heart beating and allowed him to escape. Upon returning home, Tony Stark changed his life. He stopped making weapons, turned his company towards peaceful goals, and improved his primitive armor with the help of the latest technology. The futuristic suit gave him superhuman strength, durability and the ability to fly, making him the superhero known as Iron Man…

The reverse side of the coin presents Iron Man in battle pose - with his gauntlet ready to fire the repulsor beam. The composition is supplemented with a coloured drawing of his iconic iron mask. The obverse side is then dedicated to the necessary attributes of the issuer, which is the island of Niue - i.e. the national emblem, the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD) and an issue year of 2024. The mintage, which is issued with official Marvel license, is the work of the New Zealand Mint.

The coin is stored in an elegant box with a comic book illustration.
