Product description
The new series dedicated to the gods of the Hindu pantheon is aptly opened by Ganesha, who watches over all beginnings. He is honored with a silver coin that is both a unique work of art and a collector's rarity.
The body of a man, the head of an elephant, a broken tusk, four arms, a large belly... Ganesha's appearance may raise a smile, but in reality he is an influential deity who enjoys extraordinary reverence among a billion Hindus and other believers. This god, who at first glance seems almost fairy-tale-like, hides within himself profound wisdom and power. He is the lord of beginnings and obstacles, which he both creates and removes. His large ears listen to the prayers of the world – thanks to them, Ganesha can watch over our every step and show us which way to go when it seems that there is no way forward. Although Ganesha is depicted as playful and friendly, his power is extraordinary – he protects against recklessness and pride, helps overcome inner demons, and gives the courage to start again. Although his body is heavy, his spirit is light. Although he is a lover of good food, he embodies self-control. His belly hides the entire universe with all its joys and sorrows...
On the reverse side of the coin, you will find a characteristic depiction of Ganesha sitting with all his necessary attributes. The axe serves to remove obstacles. The lotus is a symbol of purity and spiritual awakening. The broken kel reminds us of the sacrifice that must be made if we want to achieve knowledge. The modak is a traditional sweet that is the fruit of wisdom. The symbol Om represents a powerful mantra for overcoming challenges. The relief also features a mouse, which is Ganesha's traditional companion and symbolizes faith in a higher power. As the coin is issued under the license of a foreign issuer, namely the island of Niue, its obverse side bears the necessary attributes – the national emblem, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2025. All this stands out in high relief, highlighted by patina, gilding and vivid colors.
The mintage of the coin by T&S Coin is only 324 pieces.
