The two-ounce silver coin with a gecko motif, minted in proof quality, is unique artistically and even technically.

Geckos are lizards with a remarkable ability to adapt and survive. They have pads on their fingers that allow them to cling tightly to surface. With incredible ease and speed, they climb not only vertical walls and tree trunks, but also ceilings and even smooth glass. They can even run on water surface. In addition to their nimble feet and water-repellent skin, their tail also helps them. It is very useful – when gliding through the air, geckos use it to adjust their body orientation, and when pursued by a predator, they throw off their tail as bait to distract the attacker. After some time, their tail grows again. It is no wonder that in many cultures, geckos are a symbol of luck, ingenuity, and overcoming obstacles.

The commemorative coin with a gecko motif has an esoteric idea. While the obverse side represents one reality, the reverse side is a reflection of another time and space. The gecko's agile body then passes between these two dimensions. All of this is rendered in high relief. Since the coins are issued with a foreign license from the state of Cameroon, the obverse side also bears the inscription REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN and the nominal value of 2000 FRANCS CFA (XAF).
