He is the personification of reason, knowledge, and justice – the one who maintains the balance between order and chaos. Only his flawless logic was able to bring peace between the gods in times of greatest turmoil. However, his sharp mind also helped ordinary mortals. It was Thoth who taught the ancient Egyptians to write, count, measure time, and record history and laws. When they passed away, he participated in the ceremony that decided their afterlife. His impartial judgment when weighing their hearts determined whether their souls would live forever or be destroyed forever. No wonder ancient people held him in such high esteem and worshipped him as the god of wisdom, protector of scribes, and guardian of cosmic order...

The reverse side of the coin depicts the majestic Thoth as a strong man with the head of an ibis. His role as a scribe is evidenced by a papyrus scroll, and his divinity is emphasized by the rich gilding of the relief, which contrasts sharply with the rich blue coloring. In the relief, you will find another creature that records all the events of the world – it is a baboon, which, according to ancient legends, was another incarnation of Thoth. The fact that the god's name is placed in the moon disc is no coincidence. The moon, whose changing phases are easily observable with the naked eye, was perceived in ancient times as natural clock of divine origin, and it was Thoth who controlled it... The richly decorated obverse side is dedicated to the essential attributes of the coin's issuer, the island of Niue – it bears its national emblem, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD), and the year of issue, 2025. All this stands out in high relief embellished with patina.
