Crystal Coin
The unique "Crystal Coin" gift line is the result of a combination of traditional crafts from Jablonec nad Nisou - the minting of the Czech Mint and the glassworks of Preciosa. The birth of a child is one of the most popular motifs that appear on silver coins with cut Czech crystal. The original gift into the cradle has been published several times - this time with the year 2021.
The celebration of newborn baby takes different forms in different countries in the world. Americans celebrate in advance - the party takes place three weeks before the birth and it is usually associated with useful gifts. Germans, on the other hand, believe that giving gifts or celebrating before brings bad luck. Russians, like Americans, prefer practicality, and congratulators often take care of the baby's complete equipment. Mexicans bring cigars to a baby boy, otherwise they usually bring chocolate. Special sweet gifts are also preferred in the Netherlands, Belgium or Iran. And what about the Czechs? They began to rediscover the magic of the precious metal inserted into the cradle. However, most mothers, regardless of nationality, will certainly agree that organizing celebrations is the last thing they do before and after returning from the hospital. On the contrary, the father's drinking must not be missing in almost any culture…
The reverse side of the commemorative coin presents a combination of embossed relief, the Czech cut crystal and traditional symbolism. The feet of a newborn baby are small, fragile and cute - they grow guickly and remind us how tiny the baby was when the parents brought him or her home. The coin was processed by the medal maker Irena Hradecká, DiS. The legs are supplemented with other children's motifs together with a bilingual inscription of K NAROZENÍ DÍTĚTE – NEWBORN BABY. Since the coins of the Czech Mint are licensed by a foreign issuer, the island of Niue, their obverse sides bear its necessary attributes – the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD), the year of issue 2021, the name and portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II, who is surrounded by a series of footprints.
The coin comes in a limited edition of 1000 pieces and represents an original, but traditional gift.
