The cycle of silver coins of the Czech Mint recalls ancient Greek myths and legends. The heroes of the second issue are Eros and Psyche.

Psyche was the most beautiful daughter of the Anatolian king. Her charms eclipsed even Aphrodite herself, and the jealous goddess sent her son to harm her. Eros should have struck the girl with an arrow that would have aroused her unhappy love, but instead he fell in love with her himself. According to the prophecy, an inhuman husband was to come for Psyche, but he was not the monster the king feared. Instead, the wind carried her to the palace, where a mysterious voice greeted her. Though she was not allowed to know the name or face of her new husband, she fell in love with him. They were together only at night, and during the day Psyche was lonely. So her husband allowed her to invite her relatives to the palace. When the envious sisters saw the luxury in which Psyche lived, they whispered to her that the mysterious man must be a monster, and she believed them. In the darkness she shone her lamp on her sleeping husband, but instead of the monster before her lay the beautiful Eros, whom she poured hot oil on in amazement. Eros awoke and, feeling betrayed, fled to his mother, where he fell ill with grief. Psyche begged Aphrodite in vain to see Eros again. The enraged goddess made their reunion conditional on the completion of four tasks. Psyche despaired, but received unexpected compassion. The ants helped her sort the seeds. Reed told her how to get the golden wool. An eagle brought her a cup of water from the River Styx. Finally, a tower towered over her, which gave her the box of Persephone's beauty. Psyche decided to keep some of this beauty for herself, but inside the box was eternal sleep. That would have been the girl's end - had it not been for Eros, who had long since forgiven her. The god of love revived his chosen one and carried her to Olympus, where the other gods accepted her and made her immortal...

On the reverse side of the coin, which is the work of the medal maker Petr Patka, DiS., you will find a sleeping Eros, his palace, an oil lamp, ants, an eagle, golden fleece, a revived Psyche and many other mythical details. The obverse side from the workshop of medal maker Petra Brodská, DiS., presents ancient ships, temples and harpies. All this is surrounded by Hellenistic decoration. Since the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with the licence of a foreign issuer, which is the island of Niue, their obverse side bears its necessary attributes - the national emblem, the nominal value of 10 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2024.

The coin boasts an elaborated high relief, which is accentuated by patina and enamel. An integral part of the package is a narrative brochure.
