Solar System

The Czech Mint introduces another planet – Venus, which appears on the silver coin from the Solar System cycle.

Venus
gets closest to Earth in space and is the brightest object in the night sky after the moon. We also know the planet named after the Roman goddess of beauty and love as Evening star and Morning star. The greatest heat on its surface is 462 ° C. The cause is a dense atmosphere which consists mainly of carbon dioxide with clouds of sulfuric acid and causes a greenhouse effect. The pressure here is ninety times the earth and the temperature is the same throughout the year. The Venus year lasts 224 Earth days and 17 hours and is shorter than the Venus day, which lasts 243 Earth days and 4 hours.

Medal makers
Asamat Baltaev, DiS., and Jiří Hanuš, DiS., dedicated the reverse side of the coin to a colored depiction of Venus. The embossed relief then shows the Sun surrounded by the orbits of the planets of the solar system. The composition is closed by the Latin inscription VENUS. Photographs or computer graphics were not used as a template for coloring - the coin makers created original watercolor paintings. The coin surface is characterized by a special treatment - a combination of proofing, sandblasting and lasering of dies brought a new effect called "moon dust". The reverse side of the coin is dedicated to the depiction of the entire solar system and presents astronomical symbols of individual planets. In the middle of the system you will find a portrait of Elizabeth II, which is together with the Queen's name, the year of the issue 2020 and the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD), is a necessary attribute of the issuer of the coin. This is the Pacific island of Niue, which provides the Czech Mint with a foreign license to mint its own commemorative coins.

You can save the coin with Venus in a collector's album, which is full of interesting things about the universe and its conquerors.
