The Milky Way
The eleventh silver coin in the Milky Way collector's series is dedicated to hypothetical extraterrestrial life.
It is estimated that there are billions of planets in the Milky Way that have similar conditions as we know. When you say alien, most people think of a member of an advanced civilization of intelligent beings traveling through interstellar space. But extraterrestrial life may not be complicated. It can take the form of simple microorganisms, and we are likely to encounter it in our own solar system - for example, in the hidden oceans of Jupiter's moons. A hot candidate is icy Europa, where we find twice as much water as on Earth...
Medal maker Asamat Baltaev, DiS., let his imagination run wild and depicted a trio of intelligent aliens descending from a flying saucer on the reverse side of the coin. The vivid colours were achieved using colouring technology, with an original watercolour painting as a model. Stylized space objects are visible in the embossed relief and the composition is closed with the English inscription ALIEN CIVILIZATION. The obverse side of the coin humorously presents crop circles and a flying saucer illuminating the national emblem of Niue. This, together with the year of issue 2024 and the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD), is a necessary attribute of the foreign issuer of the coin - a Pacific island that provides the Czech Mint with a licence to mint its own commemorative coins.
You can save the alien coin in a collector's album full of interesting facts about our home galaxy and the space conquerors.
