The Vienna Mint has been striking commemorative silver coins with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra motif since 2008. It is a brand new coin tied up with the exceptionally successful mintage of gold coins with identical motif.
The dominating feature of the obverse side is the great organ in the Golden Hall in Vienna’s Musikverein, the concert hall of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The text Republik Österreich, the year of issue 2013, the face value of the coin 1.50 eur and the purity of the metal are also inscribed on this side of the coin.
A design of Vienna philharmonikers’ musical instruments can be seen on the reverse side along with the legend Wiener Philharmoniker. The coin is very popular among investors and collectors alike.
