Product description
The offer of silver medals from the Czech Mint for graduates has grown by another academic degree. Its commemorative mintage is now available for all college students who have successfully completed any variety of Bachelor degree courses.
The word baccalaureus is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase "bacca laurea Coronatus" - "crowned with a laurel wreath." The history of baccalaureate degree in the Czech Republic dates back to the Middle Ages - a college student had to gain it in order to continue his studies and achieve the rank of master or doctor. Today is no different. The existing series of five titular medals (M., Dr., Eng., MD. and lawyer.) has been extended by another motive by Petr Patka, DiS., master of production at the Czech Mint. The letters, from which an undergraduate degree is composed, he originally put together on the surface of the Rubik's Cube. This most famous and best-selling puzzle in the world is a symbol of a patience, a diligence and an effort - the virtues, that should be inherent to every student. The relief is complemented by the Latin words GAUDEAMUS IGITUR - "So Let Us Rejoice," which are the first verse of the unofficial anthem of the students, whose history dates back to the 13th century on the soil of the University of Bologna, the oldest university in the world.
The reverse side is common to all the graduation medals. The relief comes from the workshop of a talented medaillist Irena Hradecká, DiS., and is dedicated to the portrait of Jan Amos Comenius - the teacher of nations and one of the greatest Czech thinkers, which is the symbol of schools and education of our country.
The silver medal will help you express your pride in an original way and will become a show of support in the trials of life for all bachelors!
