The Bouquet

The motif of the sixth silver medal from the seven-part cycle inspired by the Karel Jaromír Erben's Bouquet is a poem called The Golden Spinning Wheel.

Although Erben's ballads do not have a happy ending,
good triumphs over evil in The Golden Spinning Wheel, which breathes a fairytale atmosphere. The story begins optimistically - a simple girl is lucky when the king chooses her as his wife - but it does not last long and the darkness that is typical of the author prevails. Dora is murdered by her stepmother, who slips her own daughter to the king instead. Fortunately, a righteous old man intervenes. In exchange for a magical spinning wheel, he obtains Dora's mutilated remains, which he resurrects using living water. When the king then asks his false wife to spin him a golden thread, the spinning wheel reveals her crime. Both murderers are cruelly punished and the king marries his chosen one...

The author of the obverse side of the ducat is
Mgr. Petr Horák. The fairytale composition presents a woman spinner at a spinning wheel and a magnificent royal castle. The reverse side, which is the work of MgA. Jan Hásko and which is common to the whole series, then bears a rich puget, which, alongside various flowers, hides a human skull.

The medal is set in a special packaging which includes a
complete poem. The collection of seven medals can then be stored in a collector's box.
