Július Satinský was a legend of Slovak culture. Therefore, the Czech Mint rightly dedicated him a commemorative medal minted from pure silver.

Július Satinský was a sturdy man with a massive moustache, a bohemian and a lover of women, a versatile actor, author and glossator of life. "All my life I have not told the truth, neither in private nor in public, all my life I have been a fabricator. When I die, scientific institutes will have to look at my memoirs and wonder what is fiction and what is reality," said the eternal joker. He was a versatile and creative personality - his talent gave rise to a plethora of television skits, theatrical dialogues, feature programmes, memoirs and children's stories. He was also a regular contributor to many newspapers and magazines. All his life he gave joy, his smile never faded from his face, and he abounded with serenity. In fact, he was very good at hiding when something was bothering him - for example, cancer, which proved fatal. His acting partner, loyal friend and devoted companion Milan Lasica, whom he met at school, outlived him by almost twenty years...

Slovak medal maker Mgr. Art. Miroslav Hric, Art.D., dedicated the obverse side of the medal to a faithful portrait of the charismatic Július Satinský. Silhouettes of the heads of Julius Satinský and Milan Lasica connected by a common hat can be found on both the obverse and reverse side of the medal. The medal bears the name JÚLIUS SATINSKÝ, the decorative initials of the L&S actors and the quote by Milan Lasica "CESTU SME MALI SPOLOČNÚ, ALE NOHY MA BOLIA VLASTNÉ" (translated as "WE SHARED THE ROAD, BUT MY OWN FEET HURT").
