Product description

This luxury edition of ducat St. Wenceslas is completed by a remarkable certificate of origin, which includes a text with ornamental plastic relief of two lions holding a shield of The Czech Mint and which is covered by a layer of 24 carat gold! Only 200 pieces will appear in the world!

We know from experience that St. Wenceslas is an important part of medals, and the issues with his portrait are in great demad. Numismatists can now embellish their collector`s investment portfolio with a real gem - a gold ducat St. Wenceslas by The Czech Mint.

Duke Wenceslas was son of Vratislaus I and Drahomíra. However, his education was in charge of his grandmother Saint Ludmila. She taught the pious grandson Christian principles, virtues and supported him in wisdom and prudence. And thanks to her influence Wenceslas was a unique monarch of the country, who strove for security of his nation, defended it against enemies and simultaneously promoted morality and cultural awareness of Bohemia. Under his reign Bohemia was able to equal other European countries. Wenceslas, as a ruler, was known for his strong will, deep faith in God and was also a great advocate of peace. However, due to his virtues he paid the ultimate price. According to legend, the murder of Duke Wenceslas took place on Monday, 28th September, probably in 929 or 935. His relatives` weapons, his brother Boleslav and his helpers, took his life. Posthumously, various miracles, that would prove his holiness, were attributed to Wenceslas. Duke's remains are kept in the St. Wenceslas Chapel of the Saint Vitus Cathedral at the Prague Castle.

The ducat St. Wenceslas presents a new tempting challenge for all investors and numismatists. Wonderful theme dedicated to the saint patron of our country and a strong symbol of our statehood adds to the investment value of the precious metal another important quality, artistic quality. It is the merit of the academic painter Vladimír Pavlica, whose talent is evident in the compositions of both sides of the ducat. The obverse side of the coin consists of St. Wenceslas` Eagle and of the date  of St. Wenceslas` assassination, the 28th IX. Both elements are incorporated into the relief of the cross. We can also see it on the reverse side of the ducat, which is dominated by the portrait of St. Wenceslas and his name.

Fascinating diminutive relief of the luxurious gold ducat with the motif of St. Wenceslas complemented by a gold certificate, should not escape your attention!
